The Musos
Eventually Bob plucked up the courage to actually sing live on stage. In 2009 he wrote a parody of the song “Summer Holiday” and performed it on board a cruise ship accompanied by Mike D’Abo, of Manfred Mann fame.
Back in his early days Bob was booked by Rod Stewart to perform at his father’s 80th Birthday party.
Eric Clapton also became a fan and Bob was on the bill for a surprise Tribute Dinner at the Savoy celebrating Eric’s 25 years in show business.
Bob performed before a room full of legends. In the audience were the Stones, the Bee Gees, Elton John, George Harrison “and many more I didn’t recognise “ said Bob. “ What I do know is I was the only one wearing a suit!”
Speaking with Bob were Billy Connolly, Barrie Humphries, Bob Hoskins, George Martin and Pete Townsend.
Bob brought the house down especially when he pretended to confuse Eric with Eric Burdon of The Animals.
On stage and on TV Bob has appeared with Elkie Brooks, Phil Collins, David Essex, Bryan Ferry, Ronan Keating, Elaine Paige, Sir Tim Rice, Peter Skellern and Richard Stilgoe and Status Quo among others.
